Our History
Amazonian Project began as a pilot program in New York, with a group of artists and performers who pooled their talents to produce a multimedia and photography exhibit in the Amazon. This showed the world how timeless natural beauty could be presented to the public through the use of contemporary media. The project was "Models in the Amazon". The unexpected enthusiasm generated by this initial effort taught us that people want to see more events that bring together environmental protection with visual arts, fashion and music.In November 1996, we accepted Corpoturismo's (Venezuela´s Ministry of Tourism) invitation to be part of the Venezuelan delegation to Caribe 2000 in Paris. Once again, we were in the international spotlight for our singular approach to protecting our Amazon, our future. In 1998, we were invited to the last big fair of the millennium, Expo 98 in Lisbon, dedicated to the seas and oceans as the source of life for the planet.
In October 2000, we launched our ecological calendar, Amazonian Project "Beauty for the environment 2001" to the market, which has signaled a huge promotion and reach for environmental issues in the country of Venezuela. Proceeds were donated to the support of indigenous communities threatened by extinction.
